We have officially graduated from housekeeper training and are now at work in construction! The training is helpful as each branch does things a little differently. You'll notice one difference in the photos- the housekeepers here work in skirts! Tait had to take a photo as this was perhaps the last time I will ever be scrubbing a shower in a skirt. :-)
Our first assignment was to laminate a countertop that will be installed in an apartment attached to the Kingdom Hall. Monday we start on building a pull down ladder access to a storage loft in one of the rooms. Maybe a prototype for the other rooms?? We'll see.
Last night we had our first meeting with our congregation, Marlie Mount. The kingdom hall is on the bethel property about a ten minute walk from our room. The congregation of 111 publishers is conducting 158 bible studies! There are many zealous young ones and we look forward to working with them in the ministry.
Regarding the first photo... Our first breakfast here we had scrambled eggs. The tiniest scramble you've ever seen- about the size of grains of rice. How is this possible we wondered?! Then we spotted these tiny eggs in one of the trees. Someone told us they were gecko eggs. We think the kitchen must be harvesting them for the scramble :-)
Hey Guys!
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome to hear that you're busy and enjoying your assignment. That's amazing that your congregation has so many bible studies! What a great spirit! We were working at the Marysville KH today, hanging drywall of course, and you guys were missed a ton! Brother Gallino mentioned at our toolbox safety meeting that you are in Jamaica and everyone was like "OH MAN NO FAIR!"
Keep having fun and who knows, it might not be your last shower scrubbing in a skirt!!!
Love,
W&K
Gecko egg scramble? Very interesting. Could you ask to be a part of the harvesting crew next time? We'd like to see how that's done. Cant wait to hear how the ministry was this weekend! Hugs.
