Costa Rican Critters







Here are a few photos of some of the animals we've come across since we've been here. We'll have to reserve another post just for the insects we've come across :-) There was one bug we discovered yesterday that none of us had ever seen before. After some research we identified it as a Tailless Whip Scorpion. Thankfully, they're non-venomous. We didn't get a photo of it, but it's definitely worth checking out online if you get a chance. Pretty crazy looking!

We also had a family of Howler Monkeys come through the property a couple days ago. There were probably about 10 of them, and at least one was a baby. Who needs TV with that kind of entertainment?!

All these creatures remind us of the beautiful Watchtower article we studied this past Sunday about the creative power of Jehovah's Holy Spirit and how each little creature has it's own place secured in the web of life thanks to that Holy Spirit... pretty amazing...

    Can't wait to show these pictures to Kohler. We were walking today in invitation work and he asked what kind of pet we should get next, and off the cuff I told him a monkey in Costa Rica! Anyhow beautiful pictures of the animals!

    holy Amblypigid, batman! (can you tell i had to look up that bug?!? people even keep them as pets!) ookie. someday we will understand how vital each and every creation is to our eco system and appreciate them for more than their looks. but rest easy, taiter...it's not in the arachnid family! and the googly-eyed crab is soo cute! your photos are suitable for framing!

    ...ok, i'm not gonna lie to ya, it IS in the arachnid family...but you can still rest easy. however, i'd keep an eye on that crafty lil crustacean what climbs trees!
