¡Nuevo Precusor Regular!

Our new Pioneer and his Pioneer partner

Walking to the beach Bible Study in the rain

Raffles?? Is that you???

Justin, Manuel, and MariCruz

This is the road in front of our house

We had some crazy rain last week. Roads turned to rivers. Thank goodness for four wheel drive! One of my studies lives in a little fishing village that’s only accessible from the beach. This week it was pouring rain and the tide was really high. We walked down the beach barefoot, through the waves, umbrellas in hand, in short sleeves and tank tops, and had a beautiful bible study. It was one of those “pinch yourself” moments. The storm has passed now and things are starting to dry out.

We have a new regular Pioneer in our group... my Dad! This is his first time regular pioneering, although he’s always had the pioneer spirit. He’s already earned the nickname Phillip the evangelizer (phillip is his middle name) :-). Tait and I were slated to go to Pioneer school again this year but there weren’t enough students in English to have a class, which means we’ll get to go to pioneer school with my Dad next year!

I've also included a photo of MariCruz, Justin, and Manuel, the little sister, brother, and son of one of our Bible students, Anielka. One of the first times we called on Anielka I asked MariCruz if she knew God's name. She said Jesus. We showed her Jehovah's name in her Bible and ever since then she's used his name exclusively. From the very first study she asked if she could join in and have her own copy of the Bible Teach book. The next week she had located and highlighted Jehovah's name every place it appeared in the first three chapters. She loves the activity pages for kids in the back of the magazines. I'll give her the magazines one week and when we pull up the next week she runs out to the car to meet us and "turn in" her activity pages. Her excitement has motivated her little brother Justin to join in the study too. Anielka's husband, Manuel, has also started studying, so now we all study together, one big happy family :-) They love their study and have made some beautiful expressions of appreciation, we'll write more about their progress and include some family photos in another post.

Hope this finds you all doing well! Here are some photos from the past week... Love to all...

  3. Your blog is so encouraging! The rain looks serious, is that normal for this time of year? We just went to Bethel in late June and enjoyed going in the Gilead area and thought of you guys, and your missionary spirits! That is great news about your dad! We are still working on our Costa Rica adventure. Keep up the great work! Love Jay and Angie

  4. That is great news about your dad. How fun that you'll all be in school together! And wow, that's some serious rain.
Thanks for sharing the experience about little MariCruz, that is so touching to see how she loves Jehovah already, and that her whole family is studying together.
    Keep up the good work!
